Private Residence, Princetown, New jersey, 4000sqft | Garrison Architects

This residence is set in a heavily wooden site in Princetown township. The project is an addition to a centrally organized, late modern house with vernacular influences. With the addition the house becomes an instrument for interacting with the site.

Its principal spaces are contained between a topological masonry base, wood and steel canopy. A variety of views are admitted between this conditions. As the forest canopy provides abundant shade the house admits light trough its roof and disperses it by the use of translucent inclined partitions.

Nolaster Architects project on Casa OS Spanish Green House

A private owned holiday sustainable home located in Cantabria, Spain. Designed by Madrid-based Nolaster Architects, Casa OS. This lovely home has a high-end technique, low-impact accommodation and integrates green building design. The irony is that the original design scheme wasn’t intended to be a green building, but the architects employed many green features for visual impact and practical benefits.

The front of the home looks out over the sea with the back end supported by stilts over a cavern in a dug-out hill. Combining this wind protection with insulating grass roof means that temperature is much easier and less energy-intensive to control and the building’s visual impact is much less imposing. Other features include an inner yard to provide an open space protected from wind and rainwater collection for reuse fushing toilets and watering the roof and garden in summer.

The black panels are zinc; ideal for seaside houses as it lasts longer. If desired, the entire house can be dismantled and reconstructed elsewhere, as the panels have been screwed together rather than welded. If not, the zinc can be recycled at the end of its useful life.

Sleeping up to 24 people but with use for only four in mind, the house was built to cater for a range of different uses and events. Certain areas, such as the south hall and vestibules, have been designed for flexibility, perhaps to serve as a dormitory, games room or welcome hall as required. Efficient underfloor heating allows temperature to be controlled room by room, consuming only as much energy as is needed. We love the modern aesthetic, gorgeous Euro context, and green materials and systems!

Villa D | a Single Family House, Stockholm, Sweden by Rachel Belachev Arkitektur

This is a great architectural project on villa or house design that was brought to you by Rachel Belachev Arkitektur . The Villa D is located in south-east of Stockholm, Sweden and situated on a rocky and steep site that overlooks a beautiful surrounding with high above street-level site location.

There is two main thing thats the designer/ architect try to solve from the Villa D on design phase based on the client's wish, first how is the way to access the highest point of the site, and an aim to limit the amount of blasted rock. So the problem slove that is come up from this Villa D from the designer /Architect ( Rachel Belachev ) are by choosing to design a clearly defined volume that shoots out from the rock, creating a dramatic effect worthy the site. The result is a long rectangular shaped plan, integrated into the rock on one end, cantilevered with an inclined gable on the other.

While the building has a dramatic 2-story façade facing the street, its opposite face presents a discreet single story turned towards a dense forest. The structure of the building is a combined timbre and steel construction with facades clad in wooden panels. The panels have been given a grey tone as a way of borrowing the colours of the surrounding nature.

The rooms area that are placed on the first floor with an access to the large terraces are living room, dining and kitchen areas, while the bedrooms are on the ground floor, The rooms organization of the Villa D that are explained before are created in order to fulfil the client’s wish of accessing the highest point of the site. There also skylight that is stands above the staircase and the access to the first floor bright and inviting.

House in St Margarita - Mallorca, Spain By SCT "SANCHEZ-CANTALEJO + TOMAS"

The project consists of a detached house in the town of Santa Margarita, northwest of the island of Majorca. Designed by Spanish Architect, SCT "SANCHEZ-CANTALEJO + TOMAS". The site is located at the top of a hill, next to the church on the edge of town, with great views to the fields of Majorca and the great scenery mountains background of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains.

A concrete wall creates access to housing and closes completely to the edge of the village to provide privacy with respect to the neighbors yards. On these walls are lined supports a wooden box, closed to the people and to open hearings, establishing a dialogue between the strength of the concrete, the lightness of wood and the fragility of glass.

The house is organized into two floors, reaching the ground floor living room, kitchen, garage, and on the floor at night and laundry program. The latter is organized along a longitudinal axis open at the ends. On one side of this axis are dormitories with their respective bathrooms, while the other lies a double room and staircase as a hub of communication between the two vertical plants, and two courtyards, one of them integrated into the main bedroom.
