Astounding Retreat Private and Social Life House at Ljubno ob Savinji

Having graduated in 1997, both architects Anton Žižek and Marjan Poboljšaj are very well known for their progressive design work from furniture concepts, architectural design and furniture. Their work at Ljubno ob Savinji about 70 kilometers from the Slovenian’s capital of Ljubljana is astounding and absolute retreat. They’ve created a marvelous private house design which able to separate private life and social life. The private place is made out of timber and stone, this house is occupied by bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. The social space is designed to look more extroverts consisting of living room, dining, room and a large hall where as you enter you will find the structure which is made of glass, steel and timber. Although it looks bold, we are agreed that it has a fantastic view especially the patio which is overlooking beyond the pool. This is one truly hard work worthy of mentioning.

Historic Miner’s Refuge Single Family Home

In order to protect the fragile environment and satisfying clients, sometimes architecture should embrace the unique character of an area and the history of the area. This house called Miner’s Refuge by Johnston Architects is intended as a runagate for the weekend from the crowd and clattering city located in harsh terrain of Methow yet full with beautiful view. The weekend retreat house is carefully built at the base of the hillside which is smartly tucked in between trees to take advantage and preserving the views around it. The strongest feature of this house is the patio and the expansive vista of meadow which become the house primary components of design. This house has been built on 1900 SF, where it consist of an open kitchen, open living and dining area and two modest master suites and a small bunk room which is able to give a perfect accommodation up to four guests. This single family residence also uses renewable and environmentally responsible products as best as it can.

Exclusive Flux Kitchen by Giugiaro Design

It ‘an exclusive project, has a strong identity and combines top-level design and industrial capacity. The kitchen Flux, Scavolini’s latest proposal for contemporary settings by Giugiaro Design, was previewed in Milan as part of the great event Eurocucina, and is the perfect synthesis of the creative genius of one of the leading exponents of Italian design and great experience Scavolini industry.
An innovative project filled with balance aesthetic and functional with excellent performance. It has original lines, technology, ergonomics, flexibility and multi-functionality. These are the features of the new kitchen that Flux has a versatile geometry blend straight and curved lines, speed and alternating with distinctly contemporary, dictated by a unique creativity never an end in itself that does not neglect the functional aspects of everyday usability. “We started by proposing a curved shape and dynamics for all content elements – wall and base units – which would be enhanced in contrast to the technical elements – columns, oven and refrigerator – are more austere and linear,” says the designer Giugiaro.
This choice has led them to the adoption of a caisson for the bases and flap for wall units, in the logic of providing means for opening the doors more ergonomic. Designed the initial layout of the modules they worked in two different directions but consistent decline new concept into a hi-tech and in essence a version. The former is elegant and perfect for the modern loft is available with gloss lacquered doors and a futuristic central accessory for lunch. The second, innovative vision of a wooden kitchen has staved wooden doors and is equipped with an island-totem circular high-impact. This is a solution unique to a cuisine of great prestige and charm that anticipates new scenarios of the kitchen for a near future.
