Els Colors Kindergarten by RCR Arquitectes

have designed the Els Colors kindergarten located in Manlleu which is a municipality of the district of Osona, a few kilometers north of the city of Vic, in the province of Barcelona. The els colors kindergarten exhibits a simplicity in its composition that is achieved through the juxtaposition of sections that differ only in colour.

The classrooms, communal areas and cafeteria are spread across two rectangular, single level sections, which are connected by a covered passageway that also gives access to the internal courtyard. A taller section is located above the main entrance and is used as multifunctional space.

The structural vertical elements of this Els Colors kindergarten building are made of steel, while the horizontal structural elements are of concrete. The red, orange, and yellow colored glass walls help create a happt atmosphere where children’s imaginations may flourish.
