The 6040 House begins with an all steel insulated design, utilizing pre-engineered, pre-cut, pre-drilled and pre-marked steel pieces produced to order in a factory. After delivery by truck, the building is installed onto your site-built foundation by you or your local contractor, or by Northern Steel (your option). Simply bolt the pre-fabricated frame to a concrete slab, screw on the pre-finished roof and wall sheets, and attach the supplied doors, windows and trim. Once installed, the 6040 House is ready for interior finishes applied by you or your local contractor.
Greg La Vardera of LaMiDesign and Northern Steel International have teamed to design and build the 6040 House, a pre-engineered, modern steel home.
The 3,065 sf, 2-story home is designed to be built within the standard framework of a 60' by 40' pre-engineered steel building, hence the name. But as the 6040 floor plans show, it is also designed to provide a feeling of loft-like space and light.
The 6040 House contains 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, with a ground level master suite. The master suite contains its own second floor loft space (office/library) accessed by a spiral staircase. There is a second master bedroom with its own master bath as well. The ground level public spaces are open to the full height of the structure and circulation space from the bedrooms above overlook these spaces. The ground floor also features a media room. The structure as delivered and installed also includes decks and a 3-car garage.
